Q. What Areas do you Cover?
A. Jan’s Driving School covers all areas of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Raymond Terrace with all surrounding areas.

Q. Am I able to Book a Driving Lesson on the Weekend?
A. Yes. Tuition is available 6 days a week - Monday to Saturday. Jan’s Driving School is open for Saturday lessons teaching both Manual and Auto. Hours are approximately 8am to 4.30pm.
Please note that Saturday office hours for Jan’s are 8am to 12 noon only.

Q. If you have to cancel a prearranged driving lesson what is the procedure involved?
A. Jan’s Driving School has a 24 hours notice of cancellation policy for all lessons. Non attendance at any prearranged time Jan’s Driving School will forward an account for full payment.

Q. I feel more comfortable in my own car – am I able to have driving lessons in my own car?
A. Yes. Lessons are available in your own car as long as you are not just starting out learning to drive. Your vehicle must be roadworthy and insured.

Q. Payments for lessons?
A. Please pay your Jan’s Driving School Instructor at your appointment. Please check at the time of booking what your correct charge will be. Direct Deposit for your lessons can be arranged by ringing our Jan’s Receptionist and obtaining account details prior to your lessons. Jan’s Driving School has Credit Card facilities now for all it's appointments please arrange this payment at the time of booking as our Jan's Instructors do not have this facility in their vehicles.

Q. I am about to go for my P’s – can I Take the Driving Test in One of Your Vehicles.
A. Absolutely. You can take the driving test in one of our vehicles if you wish as long as you are up to test standard. A lesson prior to the test to settle your nerves can also be arranged.

Q. Do I need to have any experience before going for a driving lesson?
A. No. If you’re just about to go for your first drive, Jan’s can help you to quickly grasp the basics from the ground up. We help overcome any nervousness and can take you to a quiet area to develop your confidence.

Q. Do you have gift vouchers?
A. Yes. We can provide gift vouchers. They are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.

Q. Do you have online bookings?
A. No. We’ve found that telephone is the quickest, simplest and easiest way for bookings. It takes about 30 seconds to book a lesson over the phone, whereas if you book online it can take ages after registering, logging in, finding an available time, choosing an instructor etc... After all, why spend more time and money than you need to?!? Our phones are answered all day, including after-hours, 7 days a week. That way we can talk to one of our friendly team about your needs personally and choose the lessons which best meet your needs. Of course if you have any questions during booking we are more than happy to help.

Q. When I go for a driving lesson, are all insurances covered?
A. Yes. All comprehensive insurances are covered.

Q. When I am going for a driving lesson, is there anything special I need to take?
A. Please bring your drivers licence, log books to all lessons. Also, make sure you have no loose fitting footwear (e.g. thongs).
